Accessibility Statement

Last updated: March 25, 2026

We believe calculation tools should work for everyone — regardless of ability, device, or connection speed. This statement outlines our commitment to accessibility and how we're working toward it.

♿ Our accessibility goals

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards where feasible. That means:

  • ✅ Content is perceivable (text alternatives, adaptable layouts)
  • ✅ Interface is operable (keyboard navigation, enough time to read)
  • ✅ Information is understandable (clear language, predictable navigation)
  • ✅ Site is robust (works with assistive technologies)

✅ What's working well

  • Keyboard navigation: All calculators and menus can be used with Tab/Shift+Tab/Enter
  • Screen reader support: Semantic HTML, ARIA labels where needed, logical reading order
  • Color contrast: Text meets minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio for readability
  • Responsive design: Tools work on mobile, tablet, and desktop without zooming
  • Focus indicators: Visible outlines show where keyboard users are on the page
  • Skip links: "Skip to main content" links at the top of each page

🚧 Known limitations & ongoing work

We're continuously improving. Current areas we're addressing:

  • Some complex calculator result tables could have better screen reader descriptions
  • A few older calculators use visual-only feedback (we're adding text alternatives)
  • PDF exports (where available) aren't always fully tagged for accessibility

We track these in our public roadmap and prioritize fixes in quarterly updates.

🛠️ How we test for accessibility

  • Automated checks: axe-core, Lighthouse, WAVE
  • Manual testing: Keyboard-only navigation, screen reader tests (NVDA, VoiceOver)
  • User feedback: Real-world reports from our community (thank you!)

📬 Report an accessibility issue

Found a barrier? We want to fix it. Please email us at contact@calculatorpro.net with:

  • The calculator or page URL
  • Your device, browser, and assistive technology (if any)
  • A description of the issue and what you expected to happen

We aim to respond within 3 business days and include accessibility fixes in our regular update cycles.

🔄 Third-party content

Some calculators use open-source JavaScript libraries (clearly credited). While we choose accessible libraries where possible, we can't guarantee the accessibility of all external code. We document known issues and work with maintainers when possible.

📅 Commitment to improvement

Accessibility isn't a checkbox — it's an ongoing practice. We:

  • Train our team on inclusive design principles
  • Review accessibility in every new feature development
  • Update this statement quarterly with progress
